A message from our CEO, Steve Boyle

Interim President and Chief Executive Officer

Dear Valued Clients,

We are all facing a lot of changes to our daily lives as a result of the protocols in place to help contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Right now, our number one priority at TD Ameritrade is the physical and financial health and safety of our clients and associates. And while the markets have seen unprecedented volatility in response to the current environment, history has shown us that we are a strong and resilient country, and the market can move up just as quickly as it’s moved down.

We’ve taken a number of steps to help ensure that we can continue to serve you, our clients, as effectively as possible, while also protecting our associates and their families. This includes shifting 100% of our positions to work from home, allowing us to keep our representatives safe, but still available to you. A limited number of employees do have building access - only when it’s necessary - for any required business continuity-related activities. Employees are taking appropriate social distancing precautions when these office visits are needed.

We’re inspired by all of those on the front lines that are working to keep people safe in our communities across the country. To help address the unprecedented needs this crisis has created, we’ve pledged $1 Million to the CDC Foundation’s Combat Coronavirus Fund and $500,000 to the Feeding America’s COVID-19 Response Fund. We’ve also opened up our Local Community Grants Program to organizations working to meet urgent local community needs, while also increasing our employee Matching Gifts Program from a one-to-one match to a two-to-one match.

To help prevent the spread of the virus, we closed our branch network on March 20. Our branch associates will be available by phone, as always, to discuss your long-term financial needs and goal planning.

Given the unprecedented volatility in the markets, you may have to wait longer on the phone to speak with us. We know that can be frustrating, and we appreciate your patience. To help you avoid the lines, we’ve created a resource that answers many of the most commonly asked questions our clients have right now. And remember that many issues can be resolved through our website or mobile apps.

To keep you up-to-date on market conditions, industry experts are sharing their insights live, every market day, through programming from our media affiliate, the TD Ameritrade Network. In addition, daily market commentary is always available on our Ticker Tape  site.

You can also access our network of independent Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) for help and advice. Contact your TD Ameritrade Financial Consultant to learn how we can help connect you to an Advisor that may be right for you.

No matter what, know that we’ll be doing everything we can to continue to support your needs. Thank you for the trust you’ve placed in us. We appreciate your being a client, and wish you and your families a quick and healthy return to our normal routines.
